Move-in and Family Orientation

Soon, your student will be packing and preparing for their move to Cambridge, MA this fall. First-year students who have applied and been accepted to participate in the First-Year Outdoor Program (FOP) are invited to move into their term time housing on August 18 during an assigned time. First-year students who have applied and been accepted to participate in the First-Year Arts Program (FAP), First-Year International Program (FIP), First-Year Urban Program (FUP), First-Year Retreat and Experience (FYRE) Program, or Leadership Institute for the First-Year Experience (LIFE) are invited to move into their term time housing on August 21 during an assigned time. First-year students who are not participating in a pre-orientation program will move into their term time housing on August 26 during an assigned time. As you plan for the upcoming semester, please know that supporting your entire family's transition to Harvard College is important to us.

Our Family Orientation program will take place in two ways. First, we will host virtual sessions in July/ early August for families to learn more about what to expect during the move-in process, ask questions about academics and the first-year experience, and hear from various campus partners who are invested in your student's success.

In addition, coinciding with the First-Year Move-In Days on August 18, 21 and 26, we will host the following on-campus programming. All programming below is offered on each of the three move-in dates!

Our Move in Day Schedule for Class of 2030 will be uploaded and shared Spring/Summer 2026
